Books Are Magical!

This is a super cute stamp set from My Favorite Things and I have been meaning to use it for so long now :)  The background is text from Alice In Wonderland and it is one of my favorite from Hero Arts.  The frame I used is from The Greetery.  I embossed the Book title several times with clear embossing powder to really make it shine.  This is also being entered into the  NBUS Challenge #41

A Place To Start---September Challenge

September 2022----Anything goes w/Fantasy theme twist Our Sponsor this month is : Sheepski Designs I am so excited to be a member of this talented design team. This is my first month and it has already encouraged me to think outside the box. I hope you will play along with us this month! Also check out the sponsor Sheepski Designs, she has some adorable designs in her Etsy shop! What a fun challenge theme!  I used a few different companies on this card starting with the Reverse Confetti circle of waves die. I cut it multiple times from cardstock to try and mimic a rainbow.  The stamp set is Magical Friends from My Favorite Things and it was colored with Copic markers.  I used a Lawn Fawn cloud stencil to lightly stencil the background. To finish it off I cut black sparkle paper with a stitched rectangle die. The sentiment was embossed and for a little extra fun I dipped the little wand in glitter :) To see all the details for this challenge head on over to the  A Place To Start Blo

Fragrant Florals

I love this color combo!!  The stamp set is from Altenew and is part of a monthly kit that I receive.  The great thing about these kits is that it not only comes with a matching die but also has the matching embossing folder.  This kit was even more versatile because the embossing folder matches the stamp set perfectly, so there is so much you can do with it. It also has matching stencil to color in the flowers! The inks I used are from Pinkfresh Studio.  I love their color range!

Christmas Tags

I didn't get as many tags done as I wanted to...however I did get all my Christmas cards done!  Next year I will start making tags in January (like I did for my Christmas card) and that way I *should* have plenty done for next year! Here are a couple of the tags I did finish.   Both of the tags were made with products from The Greetery.

Altenew Educator Certification Program - All About Layering 1

This is my first project for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. I made 2 cards for this project. Both cards used the Craft your life Garden Rose stamp set.  On the first card took a piece of watercolor cardstock and squished oxide ink on my glass work surface,  sprayed it with some water and dabbed the panel a few times, drying the panel in between each pass.   I used distress oxide inks for the background as they are water reactive.  After the panel dried I sprayed it with Altenew jet black spray and then to add a little bit of dimension, I took a stencil and used texture paste over it. I also used a text stamp in the upper left hand corner which is barely visible but adds a subtle touch. The sentiment is from the Altenew Hugs and Hello set and stands out perfectly on the background.  The larger panel and the hugs sentiment are cut from black glitter paper. Little silver baubbles finish off the card.  On this card, I didn't use all three layers. That is one thing I love

Altenew program!

YAY! I have been invited to participate in Altenew's educator certification program.  I am looking forward to moving outside of my comfort zone :)  I will be taking classes and posting my projects on this blog and on my instagram so stay tuned!!

My first attempt at "MIXED MEDIA"

I am still trying to find my cardmaking "style" and honestly I am not sure if I ever will since I am drawn to so many different ones.  On this card I tried my hand at "mixed media".  I find I really like that style but it seemed intimidating. I used Tim Holtz mica spray on the background and then stamped over it using the Hero Arts Novel Prose prints stamp.  You can barely see it but it is my favorite part of the background (it's text from Alice in Wonderland)
